There is something deeply soothing and spiritual to be found in the graceful lines of the Lotus Flower Pendant. The flower's simple imagery evokes a sense of peace and tranquility. It is particularly associated with the Buddhist religion. With its roots buried in the mud, the flower itself floats at the end of a long stalk, suggesting that it is pure and unstained by the desires of the world. And its unfolding petals are said to represent the growth of the soul itself.
This sterling silver pendant measures 7/8" tall including the bail, and comes with an 18" sterling silver chain.
How should I care for my Lotus Pendant? A soft cloth is always the best for keeping it clean and shiny. If you have a silver polishing cloth, that works great, but any soft rag will do in a pinch. We do not recommend using liquid or paste type silver cleaners on any of our silver jewelry, as these types of cleaners can cause damage with repeated use.
Is this made of pure silver? Sterling silver is actually an alloy, made primarily of silver, but with other metals (Copper, etc) added in, to increase its strength and durability. If you look closely at your sterling silver jewelry, you should be able to spot the number ".925" stamped somewhere on it, usually on the back side of the piece. That stamp is confirmation that the piece is made of sterling silver- 92.5% silver, and 7.5% other metals. One metal you _won't_ find in our sterling silver, is nickel. Because some people can have skin reactions to nickel, we always make sure that our silver jewelry is nickel-free.
In the case of this pendant, the .925 stamp is kind of hard to spot, just because the design is so open and airy. If you turn the pendant over, and hold it so the bail is pointed away from you, you'll see the stamp on the bit of metal that separates the two center petals.
