To open the locket, simply pull apart the two halves of the clam-shell locket. Small magnets at the base of the locket allow for easy opening and closing.

The locket comes with 5 felt pads which can be re-used over and over. Each felt pad will retain the ghost of the scent that it held before, so if you are planning on using a new scent, it's best to switch to a new pad.

However, if you want to experiment with more scents and colors, you can make your own pads by purchasing felt at the craft store, and cutting out circles to fit inside your locket.
