Although it is relatively inexpensive and easy to find, Tiger Eye stands out from other gems because of its remarkable chatoyancy. As light hits the bands of fibers within the stone, it is reflected back, causing a "cats eye" effect.
Because of its obvious connection to the sense of sight, Tiger Eye is often thought to prevent or alleviate vision problems. Similarly, Egyptians often used the stones in the eyes of their divine statues, to symbolize the all-seeing eyes of the gods.
Tiger Eye has a solid, grounded energy, and promotes stability and equilibrium in all things. If one aspect of your life is threatening to overwhelm the rest, Tiger Eye helps you find a healthier balance.
If you are the type to build castles in air, Tiger Eye can help you become more practical, without ever giving up on your dreams. This is especially true if you wish to become a force of good in the world. Tiger Eye will help you identify the concrete steps you need to take to start your journey, and strengthen your will and sense of purpose.
Tiger Eye is also a stone of prosperity and good fortune, encouraging common sense, bringing success in business, building wealth, and helping to protect existing resources.
Tiger Eye is the traditional gift for the ninth wedding anniversary.
You are purchasing a set of three tumbled Tiger Eye gemstones. Stones will vary in size and shape, but most are in the range of 3/4" to 1 1/8". How should I use my gemstones?
Keep them close by, in your pocket, or in a small dish at your work space. Handle them often, as you focus on your needs and wishes. Sleep with them under your pillow. Place them on your altar. Whisper your wishes to them when no one else can hear you. The only thing we do NOT recommend doing is using your gemstones to infuse water that you will be drinking.
How can I cleanse my gemstones?
Over time, gemstones can pick up negative energies as they are used. Many different methods can be employed to cleanse your stones. Bury them in a small container of salt for a few days. Hold them in running water (this is not recommended for soft gemstones like selenite or jet). Let them sit overnight in the light from a full moon. Place them where a fresh breeze can pass over them. What other methods can you think of?
