From Scotland's storied past comes a timeless expression of love and romance.

A Rich History...

The Luckenbooth's story is as captivating as its graceful design. These pieces were immensely popular in the 17th century especially, when enterprising craftsmen sold them from tiny booths on Edinburgh's Royal Mile. The booths were locked up tight at night, leading to the name of "Luckenbooth", or locked booth.

... With a Touch of Superstition

The Luckenbooth has always been a love token first and foremost, and was often given as a betrothal gift. But it was also sometimes called a witch-brooch, and worn as a good luck charm. Children were given Luckenbooth charms to protect them from the evil eye, and to keep them from being kidnapped by the fairies.

A Symbol of Love and Loyalty

Just like its Irish counterpart, the Claddagh, the Luckenbooth uses a heart and crown design as a token of love and fidelity, This particular version also includes a tiny thistle bloom - Scotland's national flower - as a nod to the country's rugged beauty and resilience.

Delicate Elegance

The Thistle Luckenbooth Pendant radiates a delicate and feminine charm. Cast in sterling silver, and hanging gracefully from an 18" sterling silver chain, this pendant is perfect for everyday wear or special occasions.

The front of this is beautiful and nicely detailed, not flat. It is lovelier in person than in the photos.
