The gemstone Tourmaline comes in a rainbow of colors, but the most common form is Black Tourmaline.
According to gemstone lore, Black Tourmaline is a powerful agent for protection and purification. It guards against all forms of threats and negativity, including curses and psychic vampires. Whenever a location has become an emotionally toxic environment, Black Tourmaline helps to "clear the air", as it were. The energy that was previously feeding the confusion and dread is transformed into its opposites- clarity, hope, and anticipation.
When your personal energy feels scattered and unfocused, Black Tourmaline is an excellent aid for grounding. It acts almost as a conduit, connecting you directly to the power found deep within the earth.
You are purchasing a set of three natural tourmaline chunks.. Stones will vary in size and shape, but most are in the range of 1" to 2". These specimens come in rough, opaque chunks. Some pieces display the striations that are typical of this crystal, but most do not. Black Tourmaline is a relatively brittle stone, It is not uncommon for it to shed tiny bits of itself if it is subjected to even gentle impacts. Thus, this stone is best suited to static displays such as altars or grids, as it may be damaged if you try to carry it with you.
How should I use my gemstones?
Keep them close by, in your pocket, or in a small dish at your work space. Handle them often, as you focus on your needs and wishes. Sleep with them under your pillow. Place them on your altar. Whisper your wishes to them when no one else can hear you. The only thing we do NOT recommend doing is using your gemstones to infuse water that you will be drinking.
How can I cleanse my gemstones?
Over time, gemstones can pick up negative energies as they are used. Many different methods can be employed to cleanse your stones. Bury them in a small container of salt for a few days. Hold them in running water (this is not recommended for soft gemstones like selenite or jet). Let them sit overnight in the light from a full moon. Place them where a fresh breeze can pass over them. What other methods can you think of?
