Metallic silver candles are often used on pagan altars to represent the Goddess or feminine energies. This is also an appropriate color to represent the Moon, or any lunar deities, or those associated with the elements of Air or Water. Pair these candles with the metallic gold candles to represent the God and Goddess together, and more generally, to symbolize the strength that comes from forces in balance with each other.
In candle magic, silver candles are used to enhance powers of intuition and divination. Use this color when you are seeking hidden knowledge, or interpreting dreams. This is a color of secrets and mysteries. Similarly, silver candles can lend their aid when you wish to increase your psychic powers, such as telepathy and clairvoyance.
If you feel like you are under attack, silver candles can help you to prevail against negative powers, much like black candles do. They are also used in rituals for purity and cleansing.
Because of their association with the lunar energies, you will often find silver candles on altars during the full moon.
The Silver Mini Chime Ritual Spell Candles measure approximately 4" tall and 1/2" in diameter, and come in sets of two.
How should I charge my candles?
When you are ready to use your candle, before you light it, take a moment to simply hold it in your hands and focus on your objective. In addition to the general intention, think about your situation in particular, and the change that you would like to create. Some people choose to anoint their candles with oil at this time, or carve symbols into the wax. That's entirely up to you.
Why should I trim my candle wick?
The length of a candle's wick determines how much fuel (the melted wax) is feeding the flame. If the wick is left too long, the candle burns more quickly than it should. It also produces more soot as it burns, which can leave a residue on the walls and ceiling. If the wick is too short, the candle will not stay lit. The ideal length is between 1/8-1/4".
