The butterfly is a nearly universal symbol of transformation. Don't we all feel a sort of kinship with the caterpillar, who trundles along from leaf to leaf hardly even lifting his head to observe the world around him, only to be reborn with wings, and the ability to soar in the sunshine? Which of us has not wished for a dark, protective cocoon to retreat to, in the hopes of emerging with new-found strengths and talents?
At the center of the butterfly lies a pentacle, showing the spirit in balance with the four elements of earth, water, air, and fire.
The Celtic Butterfly Ring is made of sterling silver, and measures just over 1/2" at its widest point. The butterfly's wingspan is 5/8".

Who made this design? The Celtic Butterfly design was created by Paul Borda, one of the leading pagan artists in the world today. Paul begins his creative process with ritual, meditation, and visualization. Once he has a clear picture of the piece in his head, he moves on to carving in wood or stone. The final step in the process is handing off his finished piece to skilled jewelers who re-interpret the design on a smaller scale so that it can be worn and enjoyed. Paul pours hundreds of hours into a project like this, and a lifetime of experience, and it certainly shows in the final product, wouldn't you agree?

I bought this ring back in May 2011 and have worn it nearly every day since; including on my wedding day last May. This ring is still is excellent condition and I doubt I'll ever take it off. It is comfortable, has no sharp corners and goes with everything. This symbol of the star butterfly means a lot to me, it is worth buying and the best ring I have ever bought. Thank you for selling this beautiful piece of jewellery. I also have the matching earrings and two of the same pendant. (Lost one and my husband replaced it and I found the original pendant I bought in 2009)

Absolutely adore this ring; before I bought this ring i never wore rings at all. Since I purchased it over a year ago I haven't taken it off. I also own the earring and necklace. The star butterfly has become a symbol in my life and represent me to my friends. If I am not wearing a star butterfly they'd think I'd have gone mental.
Well made and has withstood all my fiddling around and knocking into things which is handy because I'm accident prone. :D
