This is such a fun pattern for those who appreciate a traditional sampler format, but want it with a whimsical twist. A dragon curls contentedly atop his pile of treasure, guarding it from all dangers, while the bottom half of the design features more treasures, and a vibrant burgundy and gold alphabet, with acorns and oak leaves throughout.
This design measures 112 stitches wide by 154 stitches high. It is printed in a multi-page leaflet, with a color picture of the completed design on the cover. The chart is graphed in black and white symbols. A table showing the DMC colors you'll need is included. Blending filaments and glass beads are called for, to add an extra bit of sparkle. The artists/designer for this piece is Jennifer Aikman-Smith, who says, "This pattern was created for all those who still look for the wonder and magic in Life."

How much fabric do I need?
To calculate the amount of fabric you will need for your project, divide the number of stitches by the stitch count of the fabric you wish to use. The higher the count of your fabric, the smaller your piece will be. Some examples appear below. Remember to leave several additional inches as a border on each side, to facilitate framing your project when it is finished.
