This lovely lady is part of the Dance of the Seasons set from Mari McDonald. Celebrating the turning of the seasons toward harvest time and cooler weather, the Autumn Equinox dancer has donned her finest gear. Her flowing cloak is held in place by a garland of fall flowers. She holds aloft a crescent moon and golden sun, and her gown is embroidered with turning leaves.
The Dance of the Autumnal Equinox Cross Stitch Pattern has a stitch count of 111 stitches wide by 165 high. The front has a color photo of the finished design. The chart is graphed in black and white symbols. A table showing the DMC colors you'll need is included. This pattern calls for some backstitching and quarter stitches, and beads are used to accent the embroidery. Some specialty flosses are called for; The instructions are printed on 6 loose sheets, in a resealable cellophane envelope for protection.
This is a pattern for counted cross stitch. It is not a complete kit. You will need to supply your own fabric and floss. We are not able to offer digital downloads of our patterns at this time.
How much fabric do I need?
To calculate the amount of fabric you will need for your project, divide the number of stitches by the stitch count of the fabric you wish to use. The higher the count of your fabric, the smaller your piece will be. Some examples appear below. Remember to leave several additional inches as a border on each side, to facilitate framing your project when it is finished.
Fabric count | Approximate size of stitched area |
---|
14-count | 8" × 11 3/4" |
18-count | 6 1/4" × 9 1/4" |
25-count | 4 1/2" × 6 1/2" |
