Ah, Spring... when the days lengthen and the earth stirs to life again after the long, cold winter. Ostara is the wiccan sabbat celebrated on the spring equinox, when the hours of daylight and dark are balanced equally. This lovely seasonal cross stitch pattern shows a tree full of blooms and buds, framed by the words "Blessed Ostara".
The design for this pagan/wiccan cross stitch pattern measures 74 stitches wide by 95 stitches high, and uses only three colors. Backstitching is optional. The pattern is printed on a single sheet of cardstock. The front has a color photo of the finished design. The back has a large easy to read graph in black and white symbols with stitch count and DMC symbol and color information.
This is a pattern for counted cross stitch. It is not a complete kit. You will need to supply your own fabric and floss. We are not able to offer digital downloads of our patterns at this time.
How much fabric do I need?
To calculate the amount of fabric you will need for your project, divide the number of stitches by the stitch count of the fabric you wish to use. The higher the count of your fabric, the smaller your piece will be. Some examples appear below. Remember to leave several additional inches as a border on each side, to facilitate framing your project when it is finished.
Fabric count | Approximate size of stitched area |
---|
14-count | 5 1/4" × 6 3/4" |
18-count | 4" × 5 1/4" |
25-count | 3" × 3 3/4" |
