Tips for Choosing the Correct Ring Size

*** PLEASE NOTE ***
Our supplier for this ring has been hit hard by the COVID crisis, and is having trouble producing these rings in a timely manner. At this point, the future availability of this ring is very much up in the air. We know it's a customer favorite, so we're going to keep trying to re-stock. But for the time being, at least, we have a limited supply available. If you want it, grab it before it's gone!

The intricate Celtic spirals and knots showcased in this ring look absolutely stunning , and most people would never suspect the surprise hidden below. But a quick flip of the lid, and suddenly a tiny secret compartment is revealed. We don't recommend this for actual murder and mayhem, but it sure is a great conversation piece!

Poison rings are also sometimes called locket rings, box rings, or pillbox rings. They seem to have originated in the far East, possibly India. It wasn't until the the Middle Ages, however, that the rings were introduced to western culture. The Borgia family in Renaissance Italy, and other such unsavory characters, are supposed to have employed poison rings in their search for political power.

This Celtic poison ring is made of sterling silver. The secret compartment measures just under 1/2" in diameter. The inner diameter is 5/16", so not really large enough to hold anything useful, but it's all kinds of fun to play with!

What can I put in my poison ring?
DO NOT put anything illegal, dangerous, or unsanitary in your poison ring! Come on, folks- we didn't really need to tell you that, did we? Some of the best suggestions we've had from our customers have included a tiny picture of a loved one, or a bit of their hair, a bit of solid perfume or lip gloss, or a potent flavoring like ghost pepper powder (you only need a little to make your tongue burn!). Just keep in mind that the opening is very small. Its best use is simply as jewelry you can play with.

My grandmother had a ring just like this!
Boy, if I had a nickel for every time someone told me that! Honestly, I think people have been saying the same thing all the way back to medieval times. Poison rings seem to be one of those things that has to be rediscovered every couple of generations. But hey... just think how much fun you'll have showing this ring off to your grandkids!

Love the ring. Only problem? Can't fit a Xanax pill in it without crushing it a little. Also, ring is NOT water-tight. Remove it when near moisture! Other than this, it's lovely and my friends are jealous! You will probably get more orders from Michigan soon.
