Each piece is individually handcrafted by artist Francis Prachthauser. Each piece is formed with simple hand tools under the heat of a 5000 degree flame. After the metal is bent, melted, stretched and flowed, it is polished and lacquered to preserve the luminous quality of the metal.
Francis has been a working bronze sculptor since 1982. His work has appeared in galleries, art shows and renaissance faires as well as his own store at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure, and specialty venues like Cirque de Soleil.
"These little earrings are awesome!! The picture does not do the actual quality justice. They are my everyday earrings! Even at work (I'm a nurse). I was a little apprehensive wearing them to work because I knew people would judge me. I love them even more because I don't get along with my supervisor, and when I am close to her having conversations, I can see her eyes dart from my eyes to my ears and I can feel the animosity growing in her, but they are so small, that unless you are standing right next to my ear, you can't tell what they are. So it is a personal victory to be able to wear them and knowing it rubs her the wrong way and she can't do anything about it :-)
